Our client needed a tail dock moved inside the hangar. Their dock was
originally installed as a fixed structure mounted to the floor. They needed it
moved quickly and no others wanted the task.
– SAS stepped back from the table, re-evaluated and came up with an
out-of-the-box solution. Why not put casters on this enormous structure
like we would any other stand?
– On site work involved meticulous planning and detailed measuring of the
hangar floor for fall and elevation changes.
– It also required surveying surrounding utilities and other systems that
could be affected; then designing auxiliary structures and caster mounts
that needed to be added.
– We tapped our trusted supplier to build rigid, custom steel, one-way
casters capable of carrying the enormous load.
– Then developed a plan projecting 3-days to accomplish the installation and
move the stand (3 vital days for the hangar to be shut down).
– SAS was on site, ready to go Day One and executed the project flawlessly.
